New Earswick picked up a valuable point in a close encounter. Sharlston took an early lead but the All Blacks hit back with good work down the left hand side to put Centre Jack Sinclair in with Winger Carl Fernandez adding the extras giving New Earswick a 6-4 lead. Sharlston scored 3 times before the break with the All Blacks unable to break through the Sharlston defence to respond. New Earswick started brightly after the break with a kick through from Stand Off Ben Jones for Winger Joe Stearman to dive in at the corner for an unconverted score to close the gap to 12 points. 10 minutes later All Blacks scored again with Hooker Alan Pallister went in for a trademark try converted by Fernandez to close the gap to 6 points. New Earswick scored again with a quick play the ball from Pallister to put Joe Stearman in for his second of the game converted once again by Fernandez to level the score at 22 a piece. Both sides tried to get ahead in the game with All Blacks holding on for a valuable point in the fight to survive relegation. Man of the match for New Earswick was Second Rower Jo Hnesh with strong efforts from Centre Chris Spain And Full Back Steve Perks but Coach Simon Baynes praised there sides efforts. |
