York All Blacks took victory in a thrilling encounter at Castleford Panthers In the opening 20 minutes both sides struggled to break down each with strong defence. Castleford took the lead with an unconverted try All Blacks hit back with two tries before the break with Centre Jenny Gorwood powering her way over for unconverted try followed shortly followed by her second try to give the All Blacks a 8-4 lead at the break. After the break All Blacks extended there lead with Stand Off Becky Blackburn crossing for an unconverted try extending the lead to 8 points mid way into the half. Castleford hit back scoring a unconverted try closing the gap to 4 points with 15 minutes to go. The last 15 minutes both sides threatened to score but errors and strong defence with the All Blacks holding on for the victory. The Referee woman of the match for the All Blacks was Loose Forward Bev Langhan with the Castleford Ladies voted Second Rower Carly Hilton there women of the match for the All Blacks with Strong Performances also from Full Back Chelsea Moore and Hooker Natalie Hatfield. |
