All Blacks lose narrowly |

New Earswick suffered a setback to survive relegation after losing 12-10 to Elland. Both Sides were unable to break through which was due too strong defence from both sides. In a error ridden first half All Blacks finally broke through on 20 minutes with Second Rower Joe Hemmings powering over for an unconverted try. All Blacks continued to put pressure on the Elland defence which they again broke through with Second Rower Jo Hnesh running on to the ball to cross for an unconverted try. Elland hit back with a converted try after 26 minutes and just before the break a penalty goal to level the scores at 8 all. On the stroke of half time Stand off Ben Jones converted a penalty to give the All Blacks a 2 point lead at the break. After the break both defence held strong, a Elland penalty goal levelled the scores on the 75th minute mark All Blacks were punished for a ball steal with the ref judging 2 players were involved in the tackle. As a result Elland chose to kick at goal to take the 12-10 win. New Earswick had strong performances from man of the match Stand off Ben Jones, Prop Wayne Foster and Second Rower Jo Hnesh This defeat leaves the All Blacks third from bottom a point above relgation. |
